Mission statement
Brent’s contracting LLC was started to help homeowners that need repairs and replacements done to their home but can’t stand the cold treatment corporate service companies give them. Their main focus is to make as much money as quickly as possible and get on to their next lead.
Here at Brent’s Contracting LLC I focus on helping each customer get exactly what they want, how they want it. Then I do my best to make it fit into their current budget for the project. I want to form a long term relationship with as many customers as possible and help their friends and family in the future. I want to do this while also having great attention to detail, personal touch and care for each customers unique situation.
I want to provide such a good service that any time someone brings up that they need home improvements, you’ll be excited to help them just by telling them about me and my way of business.
My Business's Origin story
Growing up most of my family couldn’t afford the high prices to hire a large company for repairs so they helped each other fix things when they could. My grandfather was especially good with plumbing and heat repairs and saved us many times over the years. I learned a ton from
him growing up.
My father and Grandfather always had a different side business mowing grass, doing hardwood floors, installing fences, painting and carpentry which all made our family great extra money and saved the customers a ton compared to the big companies in the area.
When I grew up I got a really good job in Heating and Air, so now I could afford to pay for help in areas I didn’t know how to do myself. I hired a family friend to help finish the basement in my parents house so I’d have my own section to live in. He taught me framing, drywall install/finishing and how to do trim work.
I took what my family taught me about electrical and had a couple classes and knew enough to do it all for the project.
Later we got a fixer upper house that needed a lot of work before we could live there. I helped fix it up and learned a ton from all the projects. Carpentry, electrical, drywall, tile and hardwood flooring . We fixed up the whole upper level of the split foyer until it was good enough to move in. I later finished the whole lower level from concrete floors and cinder block walls into a fully finished basement nearly by myself while working full time.
The experience that really opened my eyes was looking for someone to replace our windows because it was a lot of work and could leak if I didn’t do it right and at the time had only done a few with other windows with a lot of guidance. The best one we found was really good, teaching us about the window types but the price was crazy high. Then when I bulked and tried to get him out of there he started coming down on price until it was so low I almost couldn’t say no. I was suspicious how they could discount it that much from the original price so I wanted to think on it but then he said his boss told him that price was only good for
today. I finally got him out of there, cooled off and decided it was still really expensive even at that discount. Later I went ahead and repaired the old wooden windows counterweights and repainted them.
I realized I could offer an alternative, more affordable service to people out there. One with a small newer company that doesn’t have to charge an arm and a leg just to stay afloat. I have very little overhead and plan to stay that way to serve the customers rather than trying to get myself out of labor.
I started off doing this on the side for years, offering to help friends and family and some of my mother in law's friends from church. I’ve recently decided to get into it full time and start to grow so I can help more people save money and have a flexible and reliable contractor to help out around the house.
